1. Vacuum Carpets & Upholstery
It's easy for dust and dirt particles to embed themselves in curtains, upholstered furniture and carpets. If allowed to settle after construction, the result will not only look filthy, but also cause itchy, irritating reactions for people and pets. Our cleaning professionals will vacuum all soft surfaces, paying close attention to the details. We'll remove and vacuum each furniture cushion and the underlying frames. We will vacuum twice if we feel or see any residual dust after the first round.
2. Wipe Down Hard Surfaces
We will clean all surfaces, working from the top down. We start by vacuuming dust off the walls; walls collect dust during construction. Vacuuming is the safest way to remove the particles without damaging the wall's surface. A damp cloth may also be used depending on the type of paint or wall covering. Before using any moisture, we test a small area before proceeding. Moldings and cabinets are also covered with dust, so we take a microfiber cloth and wipe these areas, as well. Vacuuming them first may be necessary depending on the amount of dust and debris. We clean the interior shelves of all cabinets, paying special attention to corners. We vacuum and wipe all tile, backsplashes, countertops and any other flat surfaces with a microfiber cloth. We then proceed to removing dirt and debris that's on or near the floor. We vacuum up all visible dust, and mop all hard floors from wall to wall with a microfiber mop.
3. Clean Air Vents & Replace Filters
In a large home renovation project, dust and debris mingles with the air itself, making its way into your vents. Even if you only renovated one part of your home, treating the air vents and filters in that space is critical to reducing the amount of dust that can spread throughout the rest of your home. We will remove the vent covers from the surrounding walls and ceilings, clean each one with soap and warm water, and let them dry thoroughly. We will then replace any exposed air filters with fresh ones before replacing the vent covers. Breathing dusty air can lead to allergies, respiratory issues and even organ damage, so we do not skip this crucial step!
4. Wash the Windows & Dust the Blinds
Dust & debris knows no boundaries during a construction project; it goes EVERYWHERE! Even on your windows & blinds. Having the interior windows washed is another step we take in making your living space a healthy one when your project is finished. Our team can also do the exterior windows, as well, if you wish. Just let us know!
5. Powerwash the Driveway, Patio and/or Walkway
Contractors need to have a staging area for cutting and assembling your new cabinets and countertops. This may mean that your driveway or patio gets covered with sawdust or silica dust from cutting granite. We do powerwashing so even the outside of your home will look as fresh and clean as the inside of your home after the workers have left! Other exterior services we can provide are gutter cleaning and Gutter Brite, which cleans the exterior surface of your gutters. Those unslightly stripes on the front of your gutters cannot be removed with powerwashing; they must be hand-wiped. This is just one more way we'll make your home shine!
